Many myths and stereotypes exist about prostitution: about its nature; about the individuals involved and about how governments should address it. This can often lead to people being misinformed about the reality of prostitution.
Without an understanding of these it is difficult to appreciate the exploitation factors that exist for those involved.
Part of our campaign is to separate fact from fiction, and to deconstruct some of the common cultural misconceptions that cloud understanding of this issue.
The Myths and facts document explores the common myths that are often expressed, and the realities learned through the accounts of experiences as told by those involved in prostitution.
